Advani has been driven to the limits of despair by his unfulfilled ambition to become prime minister. The tiff between the Left and the UPA has given him some hope, for the time being.

Hello Paulraj,
Thanks for your comment which is rather sharp. I happened to be someone who has never voted for BJP before and has been rationally and irrationally been a believer that Congress Party is the better qualified of all the political parties to govern india.
The Hindu headline struck me. Political ideaologies apart, what Advani has said needs to be viewed objectively. If viewed objectively it strikes you as a statement that is thought provoking.
Inflation is reported as 10 or 11% but the truth is that in the last three years prices have essentially doubled or more than doubled. Our Finance Minister has casued a form of economic progress modelled after what can best be described as ”Leela Penta model of economic progress”. We now have more hotels with $400 a room night rooms, luxurious world class cars, $100 buffet restaurants and stores that sell channel and cartier, but the life of the common man has become far more miserable. The economic progress hasn’t percolated down to the common man, it is not only that, his life has become far more miserable at a slightly improved $2 per day income.
What L K Advani has said is true. This is not an occasion of ad hominem
